The Australian Government has appointed Dr. Ian Oppermann as the Data Standards Chair for the Consumer Data Right (CDR) and Digital ID.
The functions and powers of the Data Standards Chair include:
- following formal consultation requirements to make and review data standards for CDR and Digital ID
- establishing committees, advisory panels and consultative groups for the development of standards.
These are described in:
- Part IVD of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and Competition and Consumer (Consumer Data Right) Rules 2020
- the Digital ID Act 2024.
