We welcome the Government's appointment of Dr Scott Farrell as the Data Standards Chair for the Consumer Data Right (CDR) and Digital ID.
Dr Farrell brings deep expertise in digital markets and frameworks, including as a member of the Payments System Board of the Reserve Bank, and author of the Government's Review into Open Banking in Australia and Inquiry into Future Directions for the Consumer Data Right.
See Data Standards Chair for Digital ID and Consumer Data Right for more information on Dr Farrell's appointment.
Dr Farrell will take over from Dr Ian Oppermann who has been appointed as a member of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
We congratulate Dr Oppermann on his appointment to the ACCC. Dr Oppermann has provided outstanding leadership to the Data Standards Body.
Dr Oppermann has been instrumental in preparing the way for the non-bank lending sector to join the CDR in 2026, shaping the direction of the Data Standards Advisory Committee, and overseeing a period of standards development process uplift at the Data Standard Body.
